Join us for a family celebration at Megginch castle to celebrate our apple trees, drinking and singing to the health of the orchard in the hope they will provide a bountiful harvest in the autumn.
“Apple tree, apple tree we all come to wassail thee,
Bear this year and next year to bloom and blow,
Hat fulls, cap fulls, three cornered sacks fills…”
The Wassaling will start at 15hs, at arrival to Megginch the signposting and a candle light path will take you to the orchard where we will gather next to the oldest tree and the bonfire to start the celebration, which will include traditional Scottish music, poetry reading, mulled hot apple juice, apple muffins and other treats.
