Social Juice (Neil Clapperton- Producer)

Social Juice is a community interest company supported by volunteers, with a mission to:

• Reduce and upcycle fruit waste by creating high quality fruit juices, ciders and vinegars for sale;
• Use the income to provide fruit trees for community planting to improve biodiversity and the environment.

To achieve this mission, Social Juice will:

• Graft new maiden trees to preserve heritage varieties, and provide a low cost or free supply of apple trees for their orchards;
• Offer supported volunteering and educational opportunities in grafting, planting, and managing orchards and making juice, cider and vinegar;
• Collaborate with communities on designing and planting new orchards;
• Collect and use surplus and windfall fruit from gardens, community orchards and supermarkets;
• Provide grants and materials from the sale of products made from their apples; and
• Create work opportunities and diversifying the local economy.

Social Juice has been working with dozens of communities and charities in the NE of Scotland and planted hundreds of trees but want to expand this social enterprise to hundreds of communities, across the whole country, consistently all year round.
