Two Magpies is a naturally fermented traditional cider and perry that contains only apples and pears grown in their own orchards at Stonehaven. They use their own natural and wild yeast to ferment the juice which is pressed at Glasslaw. They “drink some of the cider themselves” but also sell to local stores and pubs.
Their trees are all naturally pollinated by wild insects and no fertilizers, insecticides or any other chemicals are used. Pest control is by 6 Hens, 3 magpies, a tawny owl and 2 lurcher dogs (Rosie and Dusty).
The spent apples and pears are fed to free range wild boar in a nearby forest.
